FM Proposes Rs1,500 Crore Scheme For Promoting Digital Payments

The Honorable Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during the announcement of the Union Budget 2021 said that the Government will provide Rs. 1,500 crore scheme for the promotion of digital payments in the country.
The FM said that there has been an enormous increase in the digital payments in the recent past. She said, "To give a further boost to digital transactions, I earmark ₹1,500 crore for a proposed scheme that will provide financial incentive to promote digital mode of payment."
The FM, Smt. Sitharaman while presenting the Union Budget 2021-2022, in her Union Budget speech of 2019, said about a National Research Foundation (NRF).
She said, “We have now worked out the modalities and the NRF outlay will be ₹50,000 crore over five years. It will ensure the overall research ecosystem in the country is strengthened with focus on identified national priority thrust areas."
She also said that there will be a new initiative of National Language Translation Mission in the forthcoming days.
