Just a week before the presentation of the Union Budget on February 1, 2021, the Honorable Finance Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman on January 23, 2021, launched the "Union Budget Mobile App”. This will give access of Budget-related documents by Members of Parliament (MPs) and public.

For the first time since independence, the Budget papers will not be printed in the wake of the ongoing covid pandemic.

The Union Budget 2021 is due to be presented on February 1, 2021, is entirely paperless.

The Central Government has received permission for the same from both the houses of parliament.
